Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the website published at shalltear.dev. They do not constitute the licence under which the Shalltear engine is distributed; that licence is a separate instrument supplied with the engine binaries, and nothing in these Terms amends, supplements or supersedes it.

1. Definitions
In these Terms, the following expressions bear the meanings assigned to them below.
- “the Site” means the website published at
shalltear.dev, together with each page, file and resource made available through it. - “the Operator”, “we” and “us” mean the person or persons by whom the Site is operated and who may be reached at the address specified in clause 2.
- “you” means the person accessing or using the Site.
- “the Engine” means the Shalltear engine software, howsoever obtained.
- “a Build” means any executable, archive or other artefact of the Engine made available for download by means of the Site.
- “a Submission” means any material transmitted by you to the Operator by means of the Site, including text, reports, attachments and files.
By accessing or using the Site you signify your acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept them, you must not use the Site.
2. The Operator and notices
The Site is operated by the Operator. All notices, requests and communications arising under these Terms, including enquiries as to these Terms, requests concerning personal data, notifications of allegedly infringing material and reports of security vulnerabilities, shall be addressed to contact@shalltear.dev.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least sixteen (16) years of age in order to use the Site. By using the Site you represent that you satisfy this requirement.
4. Permitted use of the Site
You may read the pages published on the Site and download the files offered through it. You shall not take any action intended, or reasonably likely, to impair the operation of the Site or to degrade its availability to other users.
The foregoing constitutes the entirety of the acceptable-use obligations imposed in respect of the Site as presently constituted. Where the Site provides a facility for discussion, the code of conduct shall apply in addition to this clause.
5. Territorial scope
The Site and all content made available through it are directed exclusively to the United States. The Operator operates from the United States under the law of the United States, and the Site is intended for users situated there.
The Site is not directed to any other country. No content is priced in any currency other than that of the United States, translated into any other language, or marketed in any other territory, and the Operator does not offer the Site outside the United States. If you access the Site from any other territory you do so upon your own initiative, and you are responsible for determining whether the law applicable to you permits it.
6. Builds and disclaimer of warranties
Each Build offered through the Site is a development build. Builds bear no version number, do not constitute released software, and are not code-signed; the download page sets out the practical consequences of those facts.
To the fullest extent permitted by the law applicable to you, each Build is provided “as is”, without warranty or condition of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. The Operator does not warrant that any Build will function, will continue to function, or will remain available.
The rights subsisting in your favour in respect of the Engine itself are determined by the licence accompanying the Engine, and not by these Terms.
7. Submissions
This clause takes effect upon a facility for Submissions being made available. It is stated in advance for the reason that a permission of this character cannot be obtained retrospectively in respect of material already submitted.
You retain your copyright. Title to and ownership of the material you write or attach remain vested in you. Nothing in this clause operates as an assignment, and the Operator asserts no proprietary claim to that material.
You grant to the Operator a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, reproduce, display upon the Site and adapt each Submission, for the purposes of developing and supporting the Engine. Those purposes include, without limitation, opening an attached project in the editor in order to reproduce a defect, quoting a report in a changelog, and retaining any correction derived from a Submission. This licence shall survive the deletion of your account and any cessation of your use of the Site.
You represent that you hold the rights necessary to make each Submission. Should you submit material in which you do not hold those rights, you shall notify the Operator and the material will be removed; the rights holder may likewise request its removal. Any such notification should be addressed to contact@shalltear.dev and should contain particulars sufficient to identify the material complained of. The Operator shall acknowledge any such notification within seven (7) days. No undertaking is given as to the period within which removal will be effected; the undertaking extends to the acknowledgement alone.
8. Accounts
No facility for user accounts presently exists. Downloading, installing and shipping a product built with the Engine do not require an account and shall not be made to require one.
Where accounts are introduced, they shall exist for the purposes of reporting and discussion. The Operator may suspend any account used to attack the Site, to harass any person, or to publish material which the Operator is required to remove.
9. Availability and discontinuation
The Site, and any content made available through it, may be altered, relocated or discontinued. The Site is furnished without charge and is maintained by a very small number of persons; that circumstance is stated expressly in preference to an implied guarantee which could not be honoured. Notice will be given where it is practicable to do so.
The Operator undertakes no obligation to provide support. Enquiries may go unanswered and reports may go unremedied.
10. Amendment of these Terms
Where these Terms are amended in any material respect, the date stated above shall be revised accordingly and the superseded version shall remain accessible. These Terms apply to conduct occurring after their publication and shall not be applied retrospectively.
