Code of Conduct
This Code governs conduct upon every facility operated by the Operator at which persons communicate with one another concerning this project, including the feedback tracker upon its introduction and any chat or comment facility so operated.

1. Standards of conduct
Each person participating in a facility to which this Code applies shall observe the following standards.
- Address the subject matter and not the person. A participant may state that a build is defective, that an interface is unclear or that documentation is incorrect. A participant shall not disparage the person responsible for it.
- Harassment is prohibited. This prohibition extends to slurs, unsolicited sexual attention, pursuing a person from one discussion to another, the publication of private information, and threats. It applies irrespective of the identity of the person against whom the conduct is directed.
- Discussions shall not be diverted. A defect report is not a proper forum for a dispute upon an unrelated matter.
- Reports shall be made in good faith. A participant shall not submit a report known to be false, nor submit the same report repeatedly for the purpose of obtaining attention.
- Material shall not be published without the right to publish it, including leaked assets, infringing content and the private data of another person.
Criticism of the Engine, however forcefully expressed, does not constitute a breach of this Code and shall not be treated as one. This project is furnished without charge, is unfinished, and solicits reports of precisely that character; a blunt statement that a thing is unusable, accompanied by the reasons, is among the most valuable contributions that may be made. The distinction drawn by this Code is not one of intensity, but of whether the conduct is directed at a person.
2. Application to the Operator
This Code binds the persons by whom this project is maintained to the same extent as it binds any other participant. A code of conduct enforceable only against users constitutes an arrangement of power rather than a standard, and is understood as such by the audience this project seeks. Any breach by a maintainer may be reported by the means set out in clause 4.
3. Enforcement
Upon a breach of this Code, the Operator may take one or more of the following measures, the measure taken being determined by the gravity of the breach and by whether the participant has previously breached this Code. The measures are set out in ascending order of severity:
- the material is edited or removed;
- a warning is issued;
- the account is suspended for a stated period;
- the account is permanently withdrawn.
The participant shall be informed of the standard breached and of the material removed. A deletion effected without explanation presents as censorship notwithstanding that it is not, and the explanation is inexpensive to furnish.
Breaches of a serious character, including threats, the publication of private information and deliberate attacks upon the Site, warrant permanent withdrawal of the account without the intermediate measures.
4. Reports and appeals
A report of a breach should be addressed to contact@shalltear.dev, stating where the conduct occurred and identifying the material complained of. Reports are handled in confidence, and the Operator will not publish the identity of the person making the report.
A participant who considers a determination to have been made in error may reply stating the grounds, and the determination will be reconsidered. This project is not an institution and maintains no separate appellate body; what it maintains instead is a willingness to be told that it has decided wrongly.
